Seearena Hechtsee
Hechtsee in Kufstein - a popular excursion destination in the midst of diverse nature
Trees are reflected on the moss-colored water surface of Hechtsee slightly above Kufstein. A leisurely walking path leads around the lake over roots and stones. Cozy benches along the path and on the lakeshore invite you to linger. Elongated in shape, Hechtsee blends perfectly into the surrounding forest.
Surrounded by the Tyrolean mountains
Hechtsee is 57 meters deep and has a water surface area of around 28 hectares. Located on the border to neighboring Bavaria, surrounded by the Brandenberger Alpen, and just a short distance from Thierberg. Thanks to its excellent water quality and unique views, Hechtsee is one of the most popular bathing lakes in the region. In addition to many sought-after fish species, pike (Hechte) naturally also live in Hechtsee. However, the lake does not owe its name to them, but to the water nymph "Hechta", who is said to have lived there according to a legend.
Enjoyment by the water
Sunbathing areas, a children's playground, table tennis, as well as a beach and water volleyball court are located in the lido area. There are also numerous nice spots to relax all around the lake.
