226 | Hopfgarten - Langer Grund
This extensive tour starts at the Bike and MTB Info Point at the P3 Wasserfeld car park in Hopfgarten and leads along the Kechsauer Landesstraße stream towards Kelchsau. Full of bends, the route winds partly along the edge of the forest, past Salvenaland and through the village of Kelchsau to the toll booth. Turn right and follow the continuously ascending route along the idyllic stream. The route is on asphalt as far as Gasthof Moderstock (refreshment stop). Then a gravel road leads into the Langer Grund to the Erla Brennhütte (refreshment stop), where you can enjoy the tranquillity with breathtaking views of the unspoilt nature of the Kitzbühel Alps. The tour continues over several alpine pastures to the Tiefentalalm at the head of the valley, which, at around 500 years old, is one of the oldest alpine huts still in existence in Tyrol (note - no refreshments). The return route follows the same route.
