Into the water
Anne Götzendorfer, a swimming instructor from Kitzbühel, is taking you on a wonderful swim around Schwarzsee Kitzbühel today. For us, it’s the perfect way to start a warm summer’s day.

The perfect start to a hot summer's day
Schwarzsee, situated between Kitzbühel and Reith, is one of the most beautiful swimming lakes in the Alps. Thanks to its peat content, it warms up quickly in spring and offers a healthy, soothing experience. So: take a dip in the cool water and then soak up the warming rays of the sun. All this against a magnificent mountain backdrop. Pure relaxation!
Other highlights at Schwarzsee include the electric boats, which allow you to cruise leisurely across the lake, or the lovely sun terraces of the lakeside bistros, serving snacks and coffee.

Anne's round
Today’s day at the beach with Anne starts in Kitzbühel town centre. From there, we cycle along the main road and the cycle path out to the municipal lido at Schwarzsee. After the warm-up exercises – which should be done before any long swim – it’s time to slip into our swimsuits.
With a skilful dive, Anne begins her 700-metre swim across the moorland lake. At a pleasant 24°C, Schwarzsee is the perfect way to cool off on warm summer days and, with its high peat content, offers a healthy, soothing effect. If the swim feels too long, you can take a break on the other side of the lake and simply enjoy the stunning scenery for a while.
Afterwards, the bistros and sun terraces at Schwarzsee offer the perfect opportunity to refuel with coffee, cake and snacks and enjoy the rest of the day.
