From Europe’s highest grassy mountain – the Geißstein – via the striking Kitzbüheler Horn to the secluded peaks of the Kitzbühel Southern Mountains, there is plenty on offer for experienced hikers.
The tour to the Weißkopfkogel starts with Lisa Hauser, Austria’s most successful biathlete, at the Brander Reibe car park. The forest track leads through the Wildalmgraben to the Hochwildalm Aurach mountain hut. Refreshed with regional delicacies, the route continues across the gentle terrain of the Kitzbühel grassy mountains up to the summit of the Weißkopfkogel at 1,970 metres above sea level.
